Early Childhood Teacher Bridging Program

Overview

The Early Childhood Teacher Bridging Program is a fast track pathway for registered primary school teachers to complete the CHC50113 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care enabling them to work in early childhood education and care. The recognition of the Bridging Program is in place for any person who completes the program before the end of 2019 (current as at 26 September 2018).


Eligibility

You are eligible to participate in the Bridging Program if you hold:

  • a primary teaching qualification that includes a focus on children aged 3-8 or 5-12 years old

  • teacher registration/accreditation in Australia


Delivery Mode
The Bridging Program is delivered online and consists of 6 Clusters developed by the Department of Education to cover areas not part of the Primary Degree qualification. These clusters consist of written responses and workplace activities. There is a workplace experience requirement of 240 hours to be undertaken in a regulated early education and care service for children birth to five years, spread over the duration of the qualification.

Duration
